A three month long exhibition is currently underway in Australia which has seen many people witness traditional Fijian ceremonies and dances.

The Exhibition, named "Talanoa" organized by Australian Immigration was officially opened by Fiji High Commissioner to Australia Kamlesh Kumar Arya and explores why Fijians migrated and also their beliefs and values.

At the moment, close to 10 000 Fijians stay in Victoria with organizers saying this is a chance for the young people to see the struggles of their elders to preserve the Fjian culture in a new place.

Included in the Art exhibition is traditional dances by Fijians and Rotumans, people get a chance to see local art and craft from artists like Ben Whippy and Maravu Naivalu. Many Australians witnessed the "meke-iri" or fan dance amongst few traditional items.

The Talanoa exhibition ends next month.
