They have been the champion New Zealand provincial side for the past 11 years but the Auckland Invitational 7s team knows they are in for a big battle this weekend at the Uprising Fiji International 7s.
Since arriving in Fiji two days ago, the side has adapted to weather conditions and also what is in store for them from their pool opponents.
Unlike in New Zealand where they are familiar with most of their opponents in Provincial championships, the challenge in Fiji is going up against teams with game patterns they are unaware of.
Former New Zealand 7s great, Amasio Raoma said they will do their best as they are grouped with Wardens, Ratu Filise and the Fiji Warriors side.
Auckland will play Ratu Filise in their opening game tomorrow at 10:44am.
The Uprising Fiji International 7s men’s competition kicks-off at 10am tomorrow at the TFL Stadium and the first match is between the Digicel Fiji Barbarians and Marist.
