Fiji Islands Council of Trade Unions said there are major reasons as to why their Union has backed the Interim Government's stand to defer the implementation of the Employment Relations bill.

General Secretary, Attar Singh said the major worry for them is that the bill contains restrictions for Unions to strike.

However, Fiji Employers Federation's President Dixon Seeto said Singh is wrong in saying that Unions will be restricted to strike, but there are only procedural changes when unions want to strike.
