Atpack more domestically focused
The company's profit rose from $149,000 in 2006 to a million dollars last year.
At the stockbrokers briefing at the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Group CEO Ram Bajekal revealed that Atpack currently services around 25% of the market.
Bajekal said prices of raw materials for the products shot up by nearly 100% towards the start of the financial year and stayed at those levels till almost end of the year.
He added while the company was not able to pass this increased cost on to customers, it managed to improve its overall efficiencies to be able to absorb this increase.
The company is more domestically focused, as it really started out for in house consumption it has recently started exporting around 10% of its production.
The dominant player in this industry is Golden Manufacturers Limited which has been around for thirty years since 1980.
He also said the company remains focused on reducing costs and adding on new customers.
Atpack was setup in 1998.
