Athletics Fiji is now working on securing the services of sprint queen Makelesi Bulikiobo and Niko Verekauta.

National coach Albert Miller said with the Pacific Games just a few months away and Fiji being the defending champions in the track events, all avenues are being exhausted to rein in the services of the duo.

Niko Verekauta last represented the country at the 2009 Mini Games where he bagged five gold medals but has since turned to rugby while talks are on with Bulikiobo who happens to be a teacher.

Miller said that if secured, the two sprinters will boost their young athletics squad.

The Pacific Games will be held in New Caledonia from August 27 to September 10th.
