The Executive Committee of Athletics Fiji has decided to cancel their Annual General Meeting scheduled for tomorrow because there are some individuals allegedly organizing athletic clubs in the West and accepting fees without the approval and consent of Athletics Fiji.

In a statement, Athletics Fiji said they are aware the alleged individuals made some dealings on its behalf and they request the respective clubs to contact them as they have lodged a complaint with Police.

The statement also highlighted that according to the Athletics Fiji Special General Meeting resolutions in January, Dr Ayoade Alakija, Foto Ledua, Diana Lewis and Roy Ravana have been expelled from any activity in the country.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Sports Commission issued a statement this afternoon saying that the AGM should go ahead tomorrow as scheduled and the 2008 constitution is the only legally recognized constitution of Athletics Fiji.

The Sports Commission reiterated the draft 2010 constitution was not ratified or adopted at an AGM as the constitution and based on these, any actions or decisions made under the 2010 constitution is unlawful.
