Fiji Athletics Association representatives continue with their impressive performance from where they left in the Oceania Grand Prix, to win medals at the Oceania Athletics Championship in Saipan.

Marist Brothers High School sprinter Iowane Dovumatua is stamping his mark as one of the fastest men in the Oceania region. He won the men's 100 metres final with a time of 10.92 seconds beating top athletes from Papua New Guinea and the Solomons. Fiji's Setareki Tikosaya finished second to claim the silver medal.

Other gold medal winners for Fiji were, Leslie Copeland in the Men's Javelin Throw, with a throw of 67.02 metres and Milika Tuivanuavou in the Women's Javelin Throw.

Suva Grammar School student Makelesi Tumalevu won the bronze medal in the Women's 100 metres final with the Gold going to the Papua New Guinea athlete.

The Oceania Athletics Championship will continue today.
