The Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association has been forced to reduce the number of athletes taking part in this year’s Coca-Cola Light Games.
This comes after the Fiji Sports Council decided to stick to their earlier decision that they want 50% of the gate takings.
Games Organizer, Vuli Waqa said he had advised most of the outer school delegates to only bring in their top athletes in the two day competition.
Waqa added that while some athletes would miss out because of this decision, he believed this year’s competition would be a close contest.
Waqa will meet again with the Fiji Sports Council board today hoping that they will change their stance on the share they want from the gate taking.
The Coca Cola Light Games will be held next Friday and Saturday at the National Sports Stadium.
