The Constitutional Officers Commission is now seeking direct assistance from the Australian Electoral Commission to try and identify suitable candidates to take up the post of Supervisor of Elections.
Speaking to Village news, Commission Chairman Rishi Ram said while they have not been able to find a suitable applicant, they will not advertise but directly seek names of people who can take up the top job.
The Post of Supervisor of elections has been advertised twice in the past with no appointment made and now the interim government is looking abroad for someone to take up the position.
The Australian High Commission is yet to comment.
