Assault victim still unable to give statement
Her 35 year old husband, Aseri Masivou, appeared before Magistrate Alofa Seruvatu on Tuesday.
Masivou was represented by Josaia Waqaivolavola and is on bail on the condition that he is not to visit his wife without her permission.
However, the couple's 5 children have been given access by the court to visit their mother.
No plea was taken as police prosecutor Leone Lautabui requested that the plea be deferred because the victim was in no state to give a statement.
Lautabui revealed the medical report of the victim is yet to be released.
Sergeant Lautabui said that the victim is recovering at her parent's home.
Magistrate Seruvatu has adjourned the case to the 26th November for the review of the victim's condition hoping she will be able to give her statement.
The victim was admitted in critical condition in hospital after she was allegedly assaulted by her husband last month.
