Certain submissions that were supposed to have been filed this morning in the High Court by State lawyers regarding the application for the revocation of bail for those involved in the alleged assassination plot case were not done.

The Court heard that Director of Public Prosecutions lawyer Ashishna Prasad is out of the country and the DPP lawyer that took over the case for the time being, Aca Rayawa could not reveal when Prasad would be back in the country and how long she would be away for.

The state had earlier this month presented the grounds that the ten accused were a threat to national security and had asked High Court Judge, Justice Daniel Gounder to revoke bail for the ten.

Submissions were to be heard today before Justice Gounder however due to the failure to do so by State lawyers, the matter has been deferred to the 29th of February.

Ratu Inoke Takiveikata, Jone Baledrokadroka, Feoko Gadekibau, Barbadoes Mills, Sivaniolo Naulago, Metuisela Mua, Eparama Waqatairewa, Isireli Cakau, Kamanieli Vosavere, Pauliasi Namulo were all charged for their involvement in the alleged assassination plot against the Interim Prime Minister and others, while the 11th accused Peceli Rinakama was cleared of all charges late last year.
