Asian nationals to be deported this week
Department Director, Major Vuniwaqa said that they have finished questioning the nine, and at the moment they are awaiting their tickets back home.
However, Major Vuniwaqa adds that for one of the immigrants, they have to liaise with the relevant Commission for her deportation.
It is understood that the 7 Asian women were under surveillance for close to two months after the Department was alerted of the illegal activities they were carrying out.
Major Vuniwaqa revealed that when the officers from the Primary Trans-national Unit and Police raided the four houses in parts of Suva on Friday night, two male Asian nationals were arrested as well when they had gone to the women.
He adds that the two men were fishermen and were supposed to fly out the country yesterday, however were caught with the women as well.
The two then informed Immigration and Police officers that the women were allegedly part of a prostitution ring in the country.
It is expected that the nine will be deported sometime this week.
