Police have questioned and released four Asian Nationals who were detained at the Nadi International Airport last Wednesday after they were allegedly found with a large amount of fake jewellery which they brought from China.

Assistant Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said police have seized the statues which these Asian nationals are claiming is made of gold.

Sokomuri said police investigations are continuing as some Chinese nationals in the Western Division are under investigation for allegedly selling fake jewellery at high prices.

Meanwhile, Police confirmed earlier that they are also investigating a matter where a local bought $60,000 worth of jewellery from a Chinese national which were fake.
