The Immigration Department is now looking at what steps to take after revelations that some of the female Asian national arrested over the weekend were involved in a prostitution ring.
Director Immigration, Major Nemani Vuniwaqa said that the females were arrested in parts of Suva on Friday night and along with them, two male Asian Nationals were also arrested.
Major Vuniwaqa said that according to Police, the two male nationals were on their way out of the country when they decided to have a night out however where netted in the raid.
He adds that they are now looking at the ring leaders.
Meanwhile, Major Vuniwaqa said the 9 were arrested after a surveillance which lasted over 2 months.
The Trans-national Primary Unit and Police carried out the raid on four houses in Lekutu St, Nailuva and Extension St between Friday night and yesterday morning where the Chinese women and men were arrested.
The 9 are being held at the Suva prison awaiting deportation.
