The four Asian nationals who were given a suspended sentence by the Nadi Magistrates court earlier this week will now face additional charges after it was discovered that the four allegedly produced fake visa cards and obtained more than $134,000 from banks in Suva, Nausori and Lautoka.

It is also alleged that the four produced fake Visa cards and obtained money from some other banks in Viti Levu.

Police are trying to establish whether any local Asian was also involved in the racket, after reports that a group of local Asians helped this group in obtaining cash and items from various outlets.

The four were given 9 months imprisonment, suspended for 3 years for obtaining items on fake credit and visa cards from outlets in Suva, Sigatoka and Nadi worth more than $67,000.

They are expected to be charged soon.
