Asian National Questioned Over Stabbing
Assistant Spokesperson, Corporal Suliano Tevita has confirmed the incident took place on Friday night and the Captain informed police of the incident.
An order was issued by police for the vessel to return to Fiji as soon as possible and the vessel has just arrived at the Suva Wharf.
It is alleged the Asian national stabbed the local fisherman with a kitchen knife after an argument. A post mortem is expected to be conducted later today.
Meanwhile, three youths were arrested by the Police Ready Action group this morning in relation to the robbery at BP service station at the Nabua Round about on Saturday.
Assistant Police Spokesperson, Corporal Suliano Tevita confirms the three were arrested in a village near Nabua, however no money or items have been recovered from them. They are currently being questioned and charges are expected to be laid this afternoon.
Also, the four youths that were taken into custody on Saturday just after the robbery have been charged and are expected to appear in court this afternoon. According to police the seven were drinking liquor in Mead road and when it finished, they allegedly planned to rob the service station to buy more alcohol.
