The High Court heard today from prosecution witness Lance Hill via video conferencing from Australia that Ashika Lata McCartney was planning to get a divorce from Simon McCartney.

Hill said on the 23rd of October, 2007, he overheard a conversation between Simon and Sima Singh, who is a defense witness, where Simon revealed that Ashika wanted a divorce as the marriage was arranged by her father.

Hill also revealed that during the same conversation, he heard Simon mention something about the money given to Ashika's father.

He said he had accompanied Simon to his home on the 25th of October, where they picked up Ashika's bag and dropped it off at the United Club in a friend’s room.

Hill said on the 29th of October he went with Simon to the Bowling Club before accompanying him to the Uprising Resort in Pacific Harbour.

The case continues next week where two more witnesses will be called and defense lawyers are expected to make their closing submissions.
