Army walked away victorious with a cash prize of $2000 yesterday after they defeated Tabadamu 22 -17 in a thrilling cup final at Round 1 of the Freight Services Red Rock 7's held at Ratu Cakobau Park.
They beat Red Rock Premium 19 - 5 in the cup semi-finals and Marist 7's rugby club 14 - 10 in a close encounter in the cup quarter final.
Runners up Tabadamu also walked away with a cash prize of $1000 while Waibasaga won the bowl final after defeated Qauia 21 - 5.
The Freight Services Redrock 7s player of tournament award was given to Iminoni Batimala the rover for the Redrock Premium.
Meanwhile, 8 teams have booked a spot in the second round of the Red Rock 7's which will be held next month. They are Army, Tabadamu, Police, Uluinakau Babas, Redrock, Wardens Gold, Marist and Wardens Green.
$30,000 will be up for grabs at the second round of the Red Rock 7's.
