The Army rugby side will be hoping not to repeat last year's performance against Police in today's BSP Life Sukuna bowl challenge.

Last year's defeat is still fresh in the minds of the Army players as they were leading 15-12 in the last quarter of that match before Suva fullback Isoa Donaldson scored the winning try.

Police has named a powerful reserves bench which includes Flying Fijians front row trio, Setefano Somoca, Seremaia Naureure and Peni Ravai along with Ulaiyasi Lawavou which means Police will try to tire out Army in the second half by bringing in the experienced impact players.

Meanwhile, during the Sukuna bowl launch last month, Acting Police Commissioner Ravi Narayan said they will win again.

In responding to Narayan's challenge Military Land Force Commander Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga said this is their year.

The 63rd BSP Life Sukuna bowl rugby challenge will be at 4pm today at the ANZ Stadium and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station VITI FM.

Meanwhile, the Army boxing team has again retained the BSP Life Ratu Sukuna Bowl after beating Police in the finals yesterday.

Army won 5 gold medals and two silver while Police managed only 3 gold and four silver.

RFMF's gold medal came from Alipate Tuwai in the Light Welterweight title, Aminiasi Makario in the Middle Weight, Jale Maafu from Light Heavyweight and Jale Kotobalavu winning the Super Heavyweight title.

Police coach and player Viliame Vitukalulu won the Heavyweight title defeating Manasa Raketau of Police.
