The interim prime minister said the military officers drafted into the civil service is to improve efficiency and rebuild Fiji.
Commodore Frank Bainimarama has rubbished suggestions by the Soqosoqo Duavata Ni Lewenivanua (SDL) party that the growing militarization of the civil service will undermine the public service and affect the performance of the civil servants.
Bainimarama also said that the travel bans have not helped and they had to take this option.
Bainimarama also said that the SDL should take into account that military officers have always been involved in the leadership of the country.
The SDL said the infiltration of the military in the public service will undermine the morale as well as the rules of accountability to civil service officials.
