The Navy 15s rugby team is on track to end their 31 year losing streak in the Escott Sheild after beating Police 16 - 6 last night in the second semi final of the Fiji Bitter Escort Sheild.
The 98 year old rugby prize, the oldest in the country was at stake at the Stadium where Police failed to score a try against a solid Navy defense which now will start as favourites in the final next month.
Led by Flying Fijian Prop Captain Alefoso Yalayalatabua and with Suva first five eight Kameli Neiqisa played an instrumental role in scoring a try and kicking three penalties to avenge their earlier loss this season to Police.
Stormers winger, Sireli Naqelevuki came in as an impact player in the second half and maintained their dominance throughout the game.
Coach Tom Mitchel said though they managed to win this game, the young boys still have a lot to improve on.
It was a tightly contested match as both teams took on a defensive game plan in the first half before Neiqisa managed to score a try in the corner just four minutes into play.
Neiqisa was the toast as he went on to kick in three more penalties.
In the final, Navy will now meet Army Green who beat Nabua 20-3.
