The appointment of Head of the Catholic Church, Archbishop Petero Mataca as Co-Chair for the National Council for Building a better Fiji for all, has been met with criticism by some members of the church.
This follows a meeting last week between a few members of the Catholic Church and the Archbishop last week.
Kenneth Zinck, one of the few that met with the Archbishop said that even though they respect the Archbishop's motives, he needs to realize that he is compromising the stand of the church.
Archbishop Petero Mataca has defended his acceptance of the post in the council, saying that it does not mean he is biased and that he had joined the group for the sole purpose of human development.
