The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is asking the Fiji Bus Operators Association and the Fiji Taxi Union to apply for the bus and taxi fare decrease after the huge decrease in prices of fuel.
LTA CEO Etuate Koroi said the two industries should apply for the decrease in fare as they apply for increases in fare when fuel price increase.
Koroi said LTA will act if the two industries do not apply for the fare decrease.
Fiji Taxi Union General Secretary, Rishi Ram believes the taxi fare is still low compared to other costs which increased in the past few years.
The Fiji Bus Operators Association is expected to comment in the next hour.
