Blues officials are anticipating a bumper crowd to kick off Super Rugby in Auckland at 6.30 tonight.

More than 20,000 tickets have been pre sold for tonight’s match against the Crusaders with fine weather forecast, a crowd in excess of 30,000 is expected at Eden Park.

The Crusaders have had byes in the opening two rounds and Captain Kieran Read said they cannot afford their trademark slow start to the season.

Read believes Graham Henry deserves plenty of credit for the Blues superb start to the season.

The Auckland-based franchise is on a high after claiming a thrilling 34-20 win over the Hurricanes in Wellington last weekend.

And Read is convinced that New Zealand’s World Cup winning coach, who is part of the Blues coaching staff as a technical advisor, played a major part in that victory.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are in Brisbane to face the Reds at 10.20pm while the Waratahs entertain the Rebels at 8.20pm.
