Police rugby side has won $10,000 after thrashing Covenant Brothers in the final of the Waikoula Vancouver 7s 43-5 yesterday.
Former national sevens playmaker Peni Gaunimeke was at his best along with Sakenasa Aca and Waisale Dau.
Gaunimeke scored a try each in the quarterfinal, semifinal and the final while Dau was named Player of the Tournament.
Police beat Pio Tuwai’s Tokatoka resort Westfield Barbarians in the semifinal in a close match 10-5.
Osea Kolinisau’s Covenant Brothers's team beat Botaira 14-12 in another semifinal.
The Police 7s victory was the icing on the cake after winning the BSP Life Sukuna Bowl.
