Another senior executive of the Fiji Sugar Corporation has resigned as the government prepares to implement the recommendations of the Deloitte report to improve the operations and performance of the sugar industry.

First it was the FSC Board Chairman Gautum Ramswarup who stepped down, then last Friday FSC CEO Deo Saran handed in his resignation and today there is confirmation that FSC General Manager operations Annamale Naicker resigned yesterday.

All three have stated that they regret the decision but are unable to continue due to pressing personal commitments.

Following Deo Saran's resignation, government announced the appointment of former Permanent Secretary for Finance John Prasad as acting CEO for three months.

Prasad is now tasked with implementing the recommendations of the Deloitte report which is designed to try and turn the industry around by improving mill performance, reducing operational costs and ensuring that the industry gets back on its feet and allows Fiji to meets its sugar quota.

Details of the Deloitte report has not been made public.
