The Air Transport Licensing Board is expected to make an announcement in the next couple of days on the application of Fiji's domestic airline company Pacific Sun to service some routes around the country.
Board chairman Ernie Dutta confirmed this, adding there was a board meeting held yesterday where Pacific Sun's second application was discussed, however, he refused to reveal details before the announcement.
Pacific Sun general manager Manoa Kamikamica earlier said they are hopeful that the application is granted as there is a demand for air services in some outer islands.
Kamikamica said their first application was turned down because there were objections from other parties and if their second application was approved this would be a big boost for tourism in the outer islands.
