Labasa soccer team's Australian based technical adviser Anand Sami is the new National Soccer Team Coach.
Sami will replace outgoing Carlos Buzetti by the end of April.
Fiji FA made the decision in its Board of Control Meeting today after lot of criticism were received about the performance of the National team since Buzetti was appointed the head coach.
President Doctor Samsud Dean Khan said Sami was the best candidate of the four applications they received.
Meanwhile, it was also decided in the meeting, that no outsiders will now be allowed to come and play for district teams in the Fiji FA major soccer tournaments.
Sahu Khan said only professional players whose contract has expired or is no longer playing for his club in overseas, will be allowed, but the players coming over only for tournaments will now stop.
Speaking from Australia this afternoon newly appointed Fiji Soccer Anand Sami said he is proud to be given the chance to coach for the country where he was born.
