Amnesty should be given instead of immunity to those involved in the 2006 coup.

This is the suggestion by the SDL Party to the constitution commission.

SDL Party Official Pio Tabaiwalu has said that there should be a commission on coups to investigate the events that led to the events of 2006.

Tabaiwalu added that a generation has grown up in a culture of coups and when amnesty is given there should be conditions.

He added that the soldiers and officers take an oath before wearing the uniform to uphold and protect the constitution.

The SDL also wants the military officers involved in the coup to be stripped of their medals.
