Hashim Amla has resigned as the captain of the South African Cricket team immediately after his side drew their second Test against England.
The 32‑year‑old had been in poor form and AB de Villiers will lead South Africa in the third Test in Johannesburg which starts on 14 January.
Amla has had 90 Tests and 7,108 runs but had not hit a Test century since December 2014.
