Amended charges to be laid against Lolohea
This was revealed in the Employments Relations Tribunal when the case regarding Lolohea who is charged with failing to obtain the authority from the Labour Minister contrary to Regulation 4 of the Employment Promulgation was called today.
Chief Tribunal Senivalati Kuruduadua adjourned the case after prosecution lawyer and Prinicpal Labour Officer, Malakai Rokoti informed the Tribunal that they needed time to file new amended charges.
Lolohea who operates Meridian Services Agency Limited is charged with failing to obtain the authority from the Labour Minister contrary to Regulation 4 of the Employment Promulgation.
He had earlier pleaded not guilty to the charge and the matter was set for hearing today.
Chief Tribunal Kuruduadua then told Lolohea that the two conditions remain, that he refrain from recruiting, enlisting, registering or placing advertisements and offering employment on behalf of an employer to applicants outside Fiji, and that Labour Officers continue to monitor Lolohea is this regard.
However, Kuruduadua also told Lolohea to apply to the Permanent Secretary for Labour for registration of employment Agency.
The matter has been adjourned until the 1st of July where the new charges are expected to be brought to the Tribunal and a mention date has been set for the 2nd of July.
