Alleged stabber asked to go for psychiatric assessment
The accused appeared before Magistrate Amaniasi Katonivualiku today and the court heard that an argument started over a TV remote control and the accused got hold off a kitchen knife and allegedly stabbed the eight year old victim.
Tuitoga will be taken to St. Giles for an assessment before he appears in court again on the 5th of March.
The child is still admitted at the hospital.
Meanwhile, police have charged a 23 year old man of Varoko Ba who was involved in an accident in Lautoka on Monday afternoon.
Abdul Nadeem has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Shafiula Khan in Lautoka Magistrate court today. The case has been adjourned till 18th March for mention.
