A 27 year old man allegedly involved in the robbery at Anita Jewellers in Ba, on Monday is admitted at Lautoka Hospital.
Divisional Media Liason Officer Western, Inspector Ranga Sami Gounder, said the suspect fell from a cliff in the interior of Tavua and sustained injuries while he and other suspects were being chased by police. Gounder said police later found him lying at foot of the cliff a couple of days later.
He said police have recovered over 70 thousand dollars worth of jewellery from the suspects and are trying to verify how much more jewellery is yet to be discovered.
Police are also gathering evidence against a female suspect who was part of robbery team. Total of seven suspects were allegedly involved in $150,000 robbery.
