It is shameful and shocking to see that an 80 year old woman has become a victim of rape.
Those are sentiments of Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre Coordinator (FWCC) Shameema Ali following an incident in Tavua earlier this week where an 80 year old woman was allegedly raped by a 22 year old man.
Fijivillage asked Ali whether people should now stop blaming women for rape as there is a mindset that women are the ones to blame because of how they dress and this is what she had to say.
Meanwhile, Tavua Police are still questioning the 22 year old man on the incident.
