Police are expected to lay charges against the five suspects later today who allegedly murdered a 49-year-old Sheikh Mohammed Hasan in Savusavu last Sunday.
Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed saying the suspects are expected to be charged with murder and robbery with violence.
Three suspects were sent to Savusavu via boat from Natovi on Saturday and all the suspects will be produced in court in the North.
Hasan was allegedly murdered last Sunday.
Meanwhile, Police are questioning a 33-year-old woman of Nadonumai, Lami for allegedly trying to pass marijuana leaves to an inmate at the Suva Prison.
Assistant Spokesperson Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri said the woman was spotted by a police officer throwing a parcel containing cigarettes, matches and dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
Police managed to inform the prison officers who then confiscated the parcel.
She is expected to be charged soon.
