Alleged murderers granted bail
21 year old Jamie Vueti is charged with one count of assault while 19 year old Sosiceni Vatunicu and a 16 year old are charged with murder.
The three were today granted $1,000 bail with strict conditions by Magistrate Mosese Naivalu and they have been placed under curfew from 6pm to 6am.
Their plea has been deferred.
It is alleged that the three assaulted a 27 year old Nadi villager and threw him into the Nadi River on Saturday morning.
The case has been adjourned till the 10th of next month.
Meanwhile, two men charged with the alleged rape of an 18 year old girl appeared in the Nasinu court this afternoon.
Another man has also been remanded in custody in relation to this rape case and he appeared in court yesterday
The case has been adjourned till 11th September.
No plea was taken.
It is alleged that the girl and her boyfriend were returning home after attending a drinking party in Nadera when the men approached them and told the boyfriend that they are the girl’s relatives and they will drop the girl home.
Both then allegedly took the girl to their place and raped her.
