Alleged murderers further remanded in custody
Ravinesh Vikash Padiachi and Mohammed Nadeem appeared before Judge Justice Daniel Gounder, who then clarified to the two accused that their plea of not guilty taken in the Magistrates Court stands and they do not need to take a plea again.
The accused once again indicated to the court that they want to be granted bail, however, Justice Goundar stressed that their bail has been denied by the High Court and the Magistrates court and if they intend to make fresh applications they would need to apply to the Fiji Court of Appeal.
The pair face two counts of murder and one count of larceny.
The victims Rajamanickam Venkatachalam and Ramakrishnan Amirthalingham operated a scrap metal business in Nakasi and were reported missing on December 14th, 2009.
Their bodies were discovered in a pit toilet, inside a suitcase in Koronubu, Ba in early January this year.
