The bail application for the 24 year old man charged with the alleged murder of a 4 year old girl in Beqa has been refused.

Sefanaia Lotudina, appeared this morning before Magistrate Mary Muir.

Magistrate Muir stated that she bases her decision on the serious concerns raised on alleged interference in the case as stated earlier by the DPP lawyer Pita Bulamainivalu.

Magistrate Muir in delivering her ruling also said she based her decision on reference by Bulamainavalu that there was a link of alleged "sexual offending" in relation to the substantive murder charge in the case.

The Post mortem report revealed that the 4 year was allegedly strangled to death before she was allegedly thrown into the sea.

The Nawasomu villager has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance in the High Court on the 26 of this month.
