A 40 year old man charged with the alleged murder of his 32 year old defacto wife last Thursday appeared before Magistrate Kawindra Nayankkayra this afternoon.
Vikasio Tupou is represented by Legal Aid lawyer, Barbara Malimali who made an application in court for her client, Tupou to be examined at the Saint Giles hospital for medical assessment.
Malimali said this is to confirm whether her client is fit to take a plea in the next court sitting and the DPP Counsel, Nanise Ratakele did not object to the application.
The case is adjourned to the 22nd of this month.
The alleged incident took place at Reservoir road last Thursday afternoon after an argument.
A post mortem conducted revealed that the woman died of excessive blood loss due to multiple stab wounds.
