Some suspects in the alleged murder of security guard Sheik Mohammed Hassan in Savusavu on Sunday have escaped to Viti Levu.
Director Police Operations, SSP Waisea Tabakau confirms upon investigations, following strong leads and questioning some people, that these suspects have fled to Viti levu.
He is hopeful of arresting the suspects soon.
49yr old Hassan was guarding the sawmill premises when three masked men broke in and allegedly assaulted him after tying him up.
The men then went inside the house of the sawmill owner who is a Korean national and also tied him up. They then fled with more than $14,000 cash.
