A 24 year old man charged with the alleged murder of a four year old girl in Beqa was today further remanded in custody by the Suva High Court.

It is alleged that on 19th September this year, Sefenaia Lotudina of Nawasomu village, Beqa, allegedly strangled the girl and threw her into the sea.

The case was transferred to the High Court earlier this month after Magistrate Mary Muir raised concern that the Nawasomu villager may in some way interfere with investigations.

The High Court is expected to make a decision on the bail application next Friday.

The matter has been adjourned to 4th December while the DPP's Office has been given time till 13th January next year to file information and charges in court.
