Officers from the Drug Unit arrested a farmer at around 2am this morning suspected of cultivating drugs up in the highlands of Navosa.

Officer-In-Charge Drugs ASP Rajeshni Mala has confirmed that officers raided the house of the farmer and arrested him.

Police believe the farm which was raided early this week whereby 1,913 marijuana plants were uprooted belonged to him.

The street value of the marijuana is estimated to be more than $1.5 million.

Hunt still continues for other farmers whose farms were also raided and marijuana plants were uprooted.
