An investigation is underway in relation to an alleged defilement of a 15-year-old girl during a drinking party in Savusavu last month.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the matter was reported to the police on Friday and it is alleged that the incident occurred on 30th of last month.
Naisoro said the suspect's wife reported the matter after receiving information that the victim was found sleeping inside their bedroom.
It is alleged that the victim was drinking with other people at the suspect's home and after she was found inside the bedroom and questioned by her brothers, she allegedly admitted that she was sleeping with the suspect.
Naisoro said the suspect's wife was away in Labasa during the time of the incident.
