Police had to suspend their interview in relation to an alleged scam involving a former assistant minister after he complained of back pain.

He was being questioned at the Lautoka Police Station this morning when he complained of back pain and was taken to the Lautoka Hospital.

Doctors report indicates that he need three days of complete bed rest.

The former Assistant Minister is alleged to have obtained more than $85,000 from a number of people in the North after promising them of a place at the Fiji School of Nursing.

The matter was reported to police after the people who allegedly gave money to the former Assistant Minister did not had their name on the FSN intake list.
