A 64-year-old farmer of Labasa charged with raping his 23-year-old step daughter has been released on bail by the Labasa magistrates this morning.

Police Procecutor Inspector Dharmendra Kumar told Magistrate Anare Tuilevuka that the accused allegedly raped the woman of 7th of August.

The man pleaded not guilty today and has opted to take services of legal aid lawyer.

He had been released on strict bail conditions and not to interfere with state witnesses.

The case has been adjourned to 6th November.
