Alleged Plotters appear in court
The 11th accused Ratu Inoke Takiveikata did not appear in court today as he is currently admitted in hospital.
State Counsel, Wilisoni Kurisaqila sought a short adjournment to Wednesday where the State will discuss with defence counsels on changes to the counts of the charges.
Defence Counsel, Penina Salele representing one of the accused, Siva-niolo Naulago asked the court that his client be taken for scanning due to an internal injury. Another Counsel, Akuila Naco who represents Peceli Rinakama told the court that his client should be taken for medical examination because he has a heart problem.
Magistrate Semisi ruled that Takiveikata is excused as he is still admitted while all the accused be remanded and Naulago and Rinakama to be escorted by Police to hospital. Magistrate Semisi raised concern that the accused persons in the case have been remanded for some time but he will decide on their bail application next Wednesday.
