An unemployed man charged with the alleged murder of a carrier driver today presented an alibi in the Suva High Court to convince the court that he was not present at the crime scene.

Niko Bolavagone is alleged to have been paid to murdered Ravin Prakash of Muaniweni on May 19th, 2006.

Niko's cousin Vonijese Niumate took the stand today before Judge Justice Nazhat Shameem. The 22-year-old man told the court that on the day of the incident he met Niko at the bus and they had travelled together.

He also told the court that Niko was with him from 6.30pm to 8pm when the incident is alleged to have taken place.

The trial continues tomorrow.
