The courts will handle all sexual offence cases differently now, after the implementation of the Criminal Procedure Decree yesterday.

No evidence of past sexual history will be permissible for any sexual offence cases.

The decree makes it clear that in any case of a sexual nature, no evidence shall be given, and no question shall be put to a witness, relating directly or indirectly to the sexual experience of the complainant with any person other than the accused, or the reputation of the complainant in sexual matters except by the leave of the court.

It is also stated that where any person is tried for an offence of a sexual nature, no corroboration of the complainant's evidence shall be necessary for that person to be convicted.
