All registered voters have been requested to check their polling station details by texting or calling 545.

There is some confusion coming up amongst voters on where they have to go and vote.

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem said the simplest way to overcome this is to just text or call 545 and people will get a confirmation on their polling station.

He also confirmed that people are also being provided the information on whether they are allocated at the pre-polling venues.

Saneem also states that the Elections Office will rectify some concerns raised by voters as pre-polling commenced in parts of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and some outer islands yesterday.

Saneem stressed that it is important for the voters to know the pre-polling venues which they are assigned to.

He said the elections officials also visited various areas before the pre-polling period to ensure that the people are aware that they will cast their vote before September 17th.

65,875 voters are expected to cast their vote during the pre-polling period.

Saneem said several teams have been tasked to carry out the pre -poll which will run for two weeks at 547 polling stations.

He added that 525,038 voters are either postal voters or they will do polling on the day of election.
