This is the directive from the Reserve Bank of Fiji due to the impending cyclone and in accordance with the Reserve bank of Fiji Act they have declared today a public holiday for all financial institutions, as in the event of a hurricane, earthquake or other natural disaster the Reserve Bank can declare a bank holiday for financial institutions.
